I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty.

A Re{new}ed Vision

Let's be real here. I almost opened this saying, "Here it is. My annual post." But I didn't.

I'll let you in on a little secret, friends. I actually have plans to revive this old space again.

Two dozen posts linger as drafts- words in my heart to be shared with you here. They just haven't been shared. Not yet. Soon, I will recap the last year- not because I think you want it, but because I need it.

There lies my ongoing problem. I crave creating a space for you all to relax and maybe, just maybe, become inspired to dream again, hope again.

I want a space that you, friend, want to visit because you leave with your soul feeling just a few pounds lighter and the God we both love feeling a little bit closer. And in these desires, I've sacrificed my original vision for this blog.

On the altar labeled "to please others" I sacrificed delighting my sweet Jesus with the words I type. I neglect posting because I fear it's not what you, my readers, want.

Maybe we've all made the same sort of sacrifices on this altar, yeah?

Maybe we've all had big dreams and fiery passions we let fade to embers at the sound of this world's voices.

Today, I'm going back to the beginning. I started this blog to write what I know. I started this blog to worship. These words are inspired by His vast love and they are all for Him. If the words I write here encourage you, if they give you a chance to let your soul exhale, thank God, but that is not my goal.

In the end, life, our dreams and hopes, they aren't about us. They never are.

The story I write with my life points to a far greater story. A Kingdom story.

Starting now, the words I write serve to reflect the Kingdom. The words I write are for Him.

Care to join me? Let's see what happens when we stop allowing people-pleasing to be an idol on which we sacrifice our God-stories. Together, let's shut out the many voices of this world and instead let the voice of the Holy Spirit be our guide.

Dear friends, we all have a story to tell. Starting today, let's allow that story to be His.

  1. Oh girl, PREACH! That's why we blog. It's hard to explain why I continue to pour out the most intimate details of my heart and life, but it's because of Him. I needed to read this.
